Farrell's neighborhoods were built for mill families — small, close-set houses on narrow lots with alleys behind them. Trees planted between the sidewalk and the curb decades ago are now full-size, and there is rarely room to fell one. Nearly every removal here is a sectioned takedown, lowered piece by piece over a driveway or a fence.
Alley access is actually an advantage for us: a mini loader fits back there and can pull wood out without crossing a lawn. Where the alley is blocked, we crane or bucket the tree out from the street side instead.
Stump grinding matters more in Farrell than most places, because a leftover stump takes up a real share of a small yard. We grind below grade and either haul the chips or backfill so you can seed and mow right over it.
