Tree Service in Greenville, PA

Mercer County · About 17 miles north of Hermitage

Greenville has some of the best-treed residential streets in Mercer County, and that is exactly why it keeps us busy. The big Victorians and four-squares around Main Street and near Thiel College came up alongside street trees that are now well over a hundred years old — huge sugar maples, oaks, and a lot of remaining ash. Trees that size are worth saving when they can be, which is why a good share of our Greenville work is structural pruning, deadwooding, and cabling weak trunk unions rather than removal.

Down along the Shenango River and the flats near the Greenville Canal Museum and the rail yards, the soil stays wet and trees root shallow. A saturated spring followed by a hard summer squall is what puts those trees over, usually onto a garage or a fence line. We handle the emergency side of that seven days a week, and we haul the wood and brush out instead of leaving it stacked at the curb.

Winter is the other factor here. Greenville catches real lake-effect snow off Erie, and wet snow loading on an over-extended limb snaps it clean. If you have limbs hanging over a driveway, a porch roof, or the power drop, getting them reduced in late fall is far cheaper than the alternative in February.
